Member of Parliament for North Ayrshire and Arran Katy Clark MP is urging all residents in North Ayrshire and Arran to ensure they are eligible to vote in the forthcoming General Election which has to take place between now and June 2010. The Annual Canvass conducted by Ayrshire Joint Valuation Board is currently take place and eligible voters have until October 15th to confirm their details on the new Electoral Register which is due to be published on December 1st. Changes and additions to the Register will still be able to be made to this register up until shortly before the date of any General Election.

Speaking on the subject Ms. Clark said “I urge everyone in North Ayrshire and Arran to make sure that they are eligible vote in the General Election. To be able to do this vote people must ensure that they are on the electoral register and remember that they are not automatically entitled to vote just because they pay council tax or have voted before”
