Member of Parliament Katy Clark has pledged her support to Breast Cancer Campaign’s “Wear it Pink” campaign taking place throughout October. The campaign aims to raise money to fund innovative, world-class research throughout the UK and Ireland to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure.
Highlighting the Campaign Ms. Clark said “It’s a sad fact that one in nine women in the United Kingdom will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer during their lifetime. Whilst I have been delighted to see Breast Cancer survival rates improve dramatically over recent years more still needs to be done to ensure as few lives as possible are claimed by this horrific disease. “
“Breast Cancer Campaign work tirelessly to combat Breast Cancer and I am delighted to be supporting the campaign again this year. The Campaign raised over £3.5 million last year and I hope that this year it can be even more successful. I urge anyone locally who is interested to visit the campaign website at http://www.wearitpink.co.uk/about-us.aspx and get involved”
